Prof Rui Gomes sobre o Torneio Braguin

Dragons are flying to Donetsk!

Other Braguin Cup contenders are the young apprentices of the Portuguese football leaders FC Porto, also known throughout Europe as the Dragons.
FC Porto was founded in 1893. They have won the national title 23 times, Portugal Cup – 17 times, European Champions Clubs' Cup in 1987, UEFA Cup in 2003 and the Champions League in 2004.
Our correspondent spoke with the coach of our Portuguese guests Rui Pedro Alves Gomes.
Q.: Did you know anything about the Braguin tournament before you received the invitation?
G.: I must confess, I had never heard anything about it. But it only makes the competition more interesting for us.
Q.: Doe it matter to you who else is taking part in it?
G.: Yes, of course. It is very important for us to compare our team with some other strong European outfits.
Q.: Do your apprentices have much of the international experience?
G.: No, we don’t have much of such experience. For some of the boys it will be first international experience.
Q.: What tasks are set before your team? Must it be the victory necessarily?
G.: Of course, winning is not everything. But we had trained only 15 days and now we must be able to get on top form as quick as possible.
